To reciprocate the kindness of ancestors, we should practice the four immeasurables (loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity) and perform generosity and virtuous acts on their behalf. By dedicating the merit, we pray that they could be free from suffering and obtain the ultimate happiness.
